Using Default Bid Rankings for Streamlined Bidding

Default bid rankings let employees use their annual bid rankings on every bid. This is useful for companies that bid weekly or monthly and want to save time. It allows employees to bid once or a few times a year and then use those bids as a template for future bids.

Please note: This video uses the Hero Schedule version of ShiftBID. It's the same process, but the colors and branding are different. We will update these videos when our team has time!

How to Use a Default Bid Ranking

Default bids work by matching the name of the shift that was bid on in a previous bid with the same exact shift name in the current bid. If something has changed, it won't match up.

  1. Create a new bid.
  2. Select the dropdown menu next to Save, and then click Manage Bidding.
  3. Under Bidding Schedule, select Default Bids.
  4. Choose the bid you want to use as your default.
  5. The bid will now be pre-filled with the selections from the default bid.

How Employees Can Adjust Their Bids

Once the default bids have been set, employees have two options:

  • They can keep the pre-filled selections from the default bid and click Save. If an employee doesn't log in, they'll automatically get their default position.
  • They can clear their selections by clicking Quick Select and choosing a different order of shifts.
